Currently sitting my ACA Chartered Accountancy exams.
Role & Key Responsibilities
As part of the Finance Team I assist in the following:
- preparation of monthly management accounts,
- reconciliation of control accounts,
- stock valuations,
- reconciliation of the monthly trade between head office and our international subsidiaries, and
- monitoring and reviewing of administration costs.
How has your career/role developed during your time-to-date in IDB?
The experience I have gained in the short time that I have been with the IDB has been both diverse and challenging. They continually set new objectives for me monthly and increase my responsibility in my current tasks. From day one I was encouraged to express my opinions and take on responsibility; as a Trainee Accountant, this is the kind of experience everyone wants. I know that when my training contract is completed that I will have developed a good understanding and knowledge of how a company of this size operates.
What do you enjoy most about working for IDB?
The size and complexity of IDB means that everyday I learn something new about the Group and how it operates, both here and abroad. I love that I am continually dealing with people from all different backgrounds and professions who give you an insight into how they contribute to the workings of the organisation. The IDB is a global business that exports dairy products to over 80 countries, yet the camaraderie of the workforce gives the impression of a small local business.
