How has your career/role developed during your time-to-date in IDB?
I joined the IDB Systems Team 11 years ago as part of the Graduate Trainee Programme. Initially my role involved working on in-house developed systems with Cobol, CICS, JCL programming and IMS database structures in an IBM Mainframe Environment. Since then I have developed a thorough understanding of the IDB business function and have had the opportunity to move from a pure programming role to a business systems analytical one, gaining exposure to numerous new technologies along the journey.
What do you enjoy most about working for IDB?
The IT Team is a dedicated group responsible for IDB's worldwide IT operations. Because of the wide scope and variety of the applications involved, no day is ever the same and every day brings a new challenge. I enjoy being part of a creative IT resource which is disciplined and hard- working in its integrity and problem solving.
IDB has always encouraged the many outside-office hour projects and activities I have been involved in. Whether I'm singing in a rock band or acting on stage, I have been afforded room and opportunity for creative and personal development. There has been many a time I've stood on stage and seen the faces of my IDB colleagues in the audience - now that's what I call stage fright!
