Role & Key Responsibilities
My current role is to lead the Technical Team, with my key objective being to ensure all products sold by the Group meet both IDB specification and legislative quality standards.
My responsibilities include:
- Managing IDB and customer specifications
- Managing customer queries
- Results collection and monitoring
- Product sensory evaluation
- Customer quality documentation
- Auditing suppliers and third-party commercial stores
How has your career/role developed during your time-to-date in IDB?
I began working with the IDB in 2004 as part of the Graduate Trainee Programme. During my two years as a Trainee, I worked in three different roles; Product Development, Cheese Supply Chain and Technical Ingredient Sales. As part of this, I spent a year working in our US office in Chicago. Upon completion in 2006, I worked briefly on Ingredient projects before joining the Technical Team at IDB Dublin in 2007. In 2010 I was promoted to Technical Team Leader, a role I continue to hold today.
What do you enjoy most about working for IDB?
One of the best things about working at IDB is the people. I've worked with some great people throughout the Group, some of which I now count as good friends. I love the Technical area of work which I'm in now as it allows me to work with a wide variety of companies across the dairy industry. My role is very varied and involves some travel in Ireland occasionally abroad, which I love.
